Residents of a Vienna neighborhood were recently awakened by the plaintive yowls of … a car.
An investigation revealed that a kitten was trapped beneath the hood of the car, but attempts to trap her were unsuccessful. The elusive kitten then hopscotched between several other cars before disappearing.
Following her yowls, firefighters and police finally located the cat inside a police car. They traced her to a small space inside the vehicle’s floor panel, but could not readily extricate her. So they partially dismantled the police car to reach her.
Once they nabbed the little fluffball, they took her to an animal shelter, but not before she thanked firefighter Franz Zehetmeier for his efforts in the form of a bite on the finger.
